Glory to Jesus Christ! In this homily on Luke 14:15–24 (the Parable of the Great Banquet), we hear how God Himself invites us to the heavenly feast—a foretaste of which we experience in the Divine Liturgy and the sacraments. The Gospel warns against the excuses that keep us from God’s Kingdom and calls us to take our spiritual life seriously. As St. Paul writes: “What no eye has seen, nor ear heard… what God has prepared for those who love Him” (1 Cor 2:9).
