On October 13, the Church commemorates the Holy Martyrs Carpus, Papylus, Agathodorus, and Agathon—faithful Christians who suffered for Christ during the persecution of Emperor Decius in the 3rd century.

📖 Their Story:
Carpus and Papylus refused to honor the pagan gods of Rome, choosing instead to remain steadfast in their faith in Jesus Christ. When discovered, they were bound in iron chains, dragged through cities, and ultimately taken to Sardis, where they were executed for their unwavering faith.
Agathodorus and Agathon courageously followed the martyrs, sharing in their sufferings. Saint Agathon was choked to death with ox sinews, and Saints Carpus, Papylus, and Agathodorus were beheaded.

💫 Legacy of Healing:
Saint Papylus was known during his life for his gift of healing the sick, and after his martyrdom, he continues to intercede for those who pray to him with faith.

These saints remind us of the courage to stand firm in faith despite persecution and to trust in the eternal reward of those who love God above all.
